Design for sport
Engaging with your fans through attention-grabbing graphics and up-to-the-minute content.
I have been obsessed with football from a young age and have been inspired by great players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and artwork produced by sports designers around the world. This inspiration prompted me to pursue a career that allowed me to combine my two greatest passions: graphic design and sport.
Initially, sports graphic design started as a passion for me, but it soon progressed to an internship with Derby County Football Club, producing graphics for the 2013/14 season. It wasn’t too long before Patterns of Play approached me based on the work they’d seen from my Instagram page. I was invited to exhibit alongside other sports designers at an exhibition called Group Stage.
Fast forward to 2017, I was excited to work with Bundesliga after they found my work through social media. I worked as a freelancer and produced posters for them throughout the 2017 Season. Since then, I’ve worked with fantastic people on great events such as ICC Cricket World Cup, World PARA Swimming 2019, The FA and others!
I am always keen to expand my sports graphic design portfolio, and welcome new projects from any and all sporting clients.
My designs have represented a number of sports brands and athletes, including:
- ICC Cricket World Cup
- Crystal Palace Football Club
- World Para Swimming Championships
- Derby County Football Club
- Dave Smith (Olympic bobsleigh)
- Victor Moses (Chelsea FC)
- Alex Crognale and Zack Steffen (Columbus Crew)
- Train Effective
- Patterns of Play
The global audience for sport is huge and leveraging this through a considered marketing approach presents a great opportunity for brand growth.
This might include online advertising campaigns, print media and posters, or even programmes and annuals. However you’re planning to market your team, brand or sportsperson, you need high-quality graphics that bring all the excitement of the sport to life.
Some of the most memorable moments in our lives are those great sporting achievements that we are lucky enough to witness. Great marketing harnesses that sense of pride and camaraderie and makes fans feel like they are truly a part of the achievement.
Sports Social Media
A successful social media campaign needs to be engaging and relevant, and this is particularly true when it comes to sport.
There are two main elements to social media sports. Presenting up-to-the-minute coverage of current fixtures allows fans to engage with your brand during the match, while posting great content on a regular basis helps to keep followers interested during the off-season. Social media sports has been growing in popularity over recent years, and it’s important to keep up with your competitors in this fast-paced industry.
Eye-catching graphics are key to social media engagement, and my expertise in the sports industry means that my designs will grab the attention of your audience while providing insightful content.
As an extension of your social media marketing team, I work reactively with fast turnaround times, allowing you to share key updates while they are still relevant and engaging audiences during key moments.
Stay up to date with my latest sports designs and development on Instagram and Twitter.
